Are California teachers by law allowed to show movies in college with no subtitles?
It happens alot in Psychology class mostly and I can't understand them or hear them. Sometimes volume is not an issue it's the fact that I just can't understand and I need subtitles. Should I go to the EAC and ask them about this? (Educational Assistance Center).
Of course. Most films don't exist with subtitles. However, if you have been identified formally as being hearing-impaired, they do have to offer you reasonable accommodations, like having someone tell you what was happening in the film and its major points. And if you don't go to the EAC, no one will give you any accommodations (they don't have to), so I would strongly recommend that, if you are eligible for them.
