Empire of Magic (Říše Magie) Trailer
The Myths of the Inca Empire
The history tells us about the Incas. They adored several divinities with different powers. Here are the principal gods, the Creator, the sun, the thunder, the moon, the stars, the land and the sea. Also, there were other divinities which represented nature like: the mountains, the snow capped mountain, the spring, the trees, the caves, the lakes, and including animals and plants. All of these were named guacas, name who means “sacred”. In the other side, the official religion was imposed in the conquered places. The Incas tolerated regional divinities and, in some cases they incorporated them to their pantheon.
These myths were transmitted oral, because the knowledge of their handwriting was lost. When the Spanish conqueror arrived to the Empire, more than seven millions of natives were living in the Inca Empire. Years later, one million of natives only survived to the conquest. For this reason, many Andean traditions, ways of organizations, living philosophy, religion, agriculture knowledge, and universe knowledge was lost. What we actually know about Incas was transmitted by Spanish and crossing races people, who were ignorant of the Inca Culture.
Huiracocha
The ordered, creator and maker god of all things was well known as Wiraqucha Pachayachachi o Tiqsi Wiraqucha. In the Collao region his named was Tunupa. The beginning of all came from Huiracocha. He ordered the world; make the sky and the earth. He commands the sun and the moon to occupied their places and put the stars in the universe.
The Ayar brothers
This is the myth more important of Cusco. It tells us that the Incas proceeded from a place called Pacaritmbo, located at 30 kilometers of southeast from Cusco. In this place there were three windows – Mara Toco, Sutic Toco y Capac Toco created by Huiracocha god - from where the brothers Ayar went alive. The god gave them the condition of Incas and the last name Capac or powerful. He ordered them to search the ideal place to establish the Empire. This place was Cusco.
Myth about Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo
Once upon a time when the sun raised beyond the Apus (hills), appeared a mythic couple from the center of the Titicaca Lake. When they arrived to land, Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo take the route to North, because their father, the Sun, sent them to search a place in which they had to establish. When they arrived to the Huanacauri Hill, near Cusco, they proved the magic stick previously received from their father the Sun. His father has ordered them to sink the magic stick in the land. This magic stick will indicate the place where the Empire must be built. And that was what happened, the stitch sink and both decided to live in this land and to civilize all the people of the valley, teaching them how to seed corn and how to weave. This myth was related by the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega in his Memories.
The World ages
The ancient Andean people had a different conception of the time and divided the World history in five ages. Each one of them represented a type of social organization with its beginning and end. This division is explicated in the chronicles of Guaman Poma de Ayala.
During the 12th through 15th century, the Lords of the Chimú Kingdom ruled over the northern part of the Peruvian coast, they used SILVER for all kinds of objects, from grand items of jewelry such as ear flares and necklace beads, to disks and vessels both large and small.
Our ancient culture teaches us the handicraft of metals, for this reason we have inherited some techniques like to weave silver threads.
