Denis Leary Tickets – Denis Leary Gets Politically Incorrect on Rescue Me Comedy Tour
Fans of Denis Leary's hit FX show Rescue Me won't have to wait until the Season 6 premiere in late June to get their fill of Leary's lewd, politically incorrect and downright angry brand of comedy—because he hit the road on the Rescue Me Comedy Tour on May 22. The trek is the follow-up to Leary's 2009 tour, which was his first tour in 12 years, and sees him headlining and brining along cast mates and fellow comedians Lenny Clarke and Adam Ferrara.
Like last year's trek, musical guests the Enablers featuring the Rehab Horns will also be along for the ride. Leary and The Enablers recently released a new single, "F.U.," on May 18—and take a wild guess what the track is about!
On his official website, Leary explained why he decided to reprise the tour, saying, "We had such an amazing time on the rescue me comedy tour last summer—and most of the restraining orders and obscenity charges have either lapsed or didn't hold up well in court—so we are headed back out on the open road to make America laugh. And when I say 'most' I mean we will be visiting several cities we didn't' visit last year. And leaving each town immediately after the show." This time around, Leary & Co. will be stopping in Washington, D.C.; Uncasville, Conn.; San Diego, Calif.; Las Vegas, Nev.; Milwaukee, Wis.; Chicago, Ill. and more before wrapping things up in New York City on June 27.
On April 26 Leary became @denisleary on Twitter, instantly quipping, "Twitter is about to announce a new pay model. For 25 bucks a month you never hear from Ashton Kutcher again." Ouch! Jokes aside, Leary revealed that he will use Twitter on his tour and also explained why he decided to jump on the Twitter bandwagon. LA Weekly quotes Leary as saying, "My wife's been tweeting for a while. But I really started to get pissed off when I saw Colbert and a couple other funny guys doing it. Then I saw Conan {O'Brien] was doing it, and I was just like, 'Well, if Conan can do it, I mean I can figure out how to do it.'"
Fans can get Denis Leary tickets from StubHub.com to see the tour when it stops in a city near them. Like most of his endeavors, Leary's tour partially benefits the Leary Firefighters Foundation. The actor and comedian founded the charity in 2000 as a response to a fire that engulfed an abandoned warehouse in his hometown of Worchester, Mass. in December 1999. Six of the 75 firefighters that entered the warehouse tragically never came out—one was Leary's cousin, Jerry Lucey, while another was his childhood friend, Lt. Tommy Spencer.
The Leary Firefighters Foundation provides fire departments with funding and resources for training and equipment and expanded to establish the Fund for New York's Bravest in the wake of the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001. The Fund for New York's Bravest raises money for the families of the 343 firefighters who died in the line of duty. Leary's foundations continue to remain dedicated to the needs of firefighters and their families, and Leary's hit show is a case of art imitating life. FX's Rescue Me chronicles the crew of 64 Truck in a New York City firehouse. Steeped in dark humor, the show explores the relationships between the firefighters and their constant life-and-death encounters.
