What to Buy as a Year End Gifts for Teachers?
I am tired of buying the same old gifts for my son's teachers. I am sure they must have enough mugs, desk sets and calendars to last a lifetime, so this year I really wanted to do something different. After school I talked with some of the other mothers of kids in the class and they thought the same thing. We talked about the possibility of choosing from different charm bracelets and then having each child add on, creating a beautiful class gift.
Since there were so many different styles and types of charm bracelets available we all worked together to decide which would be the best. It seemed that the teacher tended to wear very simple yet elegant types of jewelry, so that is what we went with in the bracelet. We decided to pick from charm bracelets that were single strand, finding just the one that we all loved.
Although there was a bit of discussion about silver or gold charm bracelets, in the end we decided to select from the silver charm bracelets as this is the type of jewelry she wore most often. The next thing was to have all the kids pick a charm that would be added to the bracelet before the next two weeks.
Rather than have the Mom's choose the charms, we all agreed that charm bracelets that were rather eclectic in style were really the best. This would also make the gift very personal from each child, even though it was a class gift.
All the Moms and kids agreed that the theme of the bracelet would be school related, including kids, supplies and apples for the teacher. There were several charm bracelets on display in the store so we checked out how different styles looked when the charms were attached.
Apples were the biggest hit with the kids and our charm bracelet had lots of all sizes, shapes and designs. There were several charms that had messages about World's Best Teacher and Number 1 Teacher which I know Ms. Murray will love.
All the parents agreed we wanted a charm as well and had a personal message of thanks on a disk style of charm. Every field trips and special event the kids went on in her class was also remembered with a charm. Even if she has many charm bracelets this one will definitely bring back memories.
The big day came and the class gathered round to see Ms. Murray open her gift. She was very touched and told the class she loved charm bracelets and this one was sure to be her favorite. It seems like this was such a hit I am going to talk to everyone about giving charm bracelets in future years as a great class gift.
