DARWIN CONORT
Lead & harmony vocals, acoustic and electric
guitar, keyboards
Darwin (or Dar, as we all call him) is a
Georgia Music Festival award winner and a BMI affiliate songwriter.
He is currently involved in several projects ranging from
"bluegrass/newgrass" styles and country/rock styles as
well. One of Darwin's original projects is a collaboration with WWF
star Michael "P.S." Hayes. Formerly a member of The
Stillstone Brothers, Darwin is a favorite performer at
many Atlanta venues and does many patio gigs in the summer. He plays Takamine, Fender and Charvel guitars and his amp rig
includes Hiwatt, Ampeg and Carvin amps.
Dar works as freelance audio
engineer and lives with his pet cockatoo, Rosie, who rules the roost.

KONEY
FERRELL
Vocals, Bass, Chapman Stick, Mandolin, Dobro, Lap Steel, Keyboards,
Tenor Banjo
Koney is an Atlanta native and has been
playing bass for over 25 years, having also played on
several local artists CD’s, and over the years has played
different styles of music such as rock, jazz, country, Blues, &
Blue Grass, as well as writing and arranging songs. He is planning
an instrumental jazz/pop/new age CD featuring his 8 string bass as
the main voice.
Besides his work
with Darwin's Theory, Koney also is a working member of A1A, a Jimmy Buffet
tribute band, as well as having recorded a CD with Jeff Pike and
Scott Nickerson on the CD "Live at the Red Light Cafe".Koney,
his wife Debbie and their daughter Nikki reside in Stockbridge, GA.,
with their dog Homer.

PAUL O'DANIEL
Drummer/Percussionist
Paul has been performing around the Atlanta
area for over 20 years. He is a Georgia Music Festival winner and
appeared on the 96Rock album "Home Cookin", a showcase for
the best unsigned original musicians in Georgia. Paul plays a Yamaha
Beech Custom 7 piece drum kit with Zildjian and UFIP cymbals and
percussion instruments by LP and Toca. After scorning electronic
percussion for many years Paul recently began playing the Roland
V-Pro electronic drum kit for live gigs. He now says, "For
versatility you can't beat the V-Drums, except with a pair of
drumsticks of course."
Paul resides in Atlanta with his wife,
Tina, their dog Foozi and 6 cats and works for a production
consultant company that provides camera, lighting and soundstage
equipment.

JAMES COBB
Lead & harmony vocals, acoustic & classical guitar,
harmonica
James started playing folk and rock styles
similar to James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton and Jimi
Hendrix in the 70s. He studied classical guitar at the
University of Delaware and graduated in 1981. Along the way,
he learned audio engineering skills to augment his music. In
1987, James met Darwin and Koney and started playing with Dar's old
group the Stillstone Brothers. Over the next ten years
he traveled and performed in Colorado, Montana, Delaware and the
Virgin Islands with his group Home Planet.
Currently,
James is chief audio engineer at Real2Reel Studios in Jonesboro, GA.,
and has authored two CDs of original music. James also entertains on
classical guitar at Fuego Latin Café in Alpharetta, GA.

SUSAN
MORRISON (Van & Jim's little sister!)
Lead/harmony vocals, keyboards, guitar, mandolin, tenor
banjo, autoharp, harmonica, dulcimer, accordion, alto saxophone,
congas.
Susan hails from a large musical family in
Maine, similar to the hillfolk musicians called "The
Darlings" on the old Andy Griffith show.
Susan has toured with several bands in Maine and California
including Sundown (country rock),Juleri (Jazz), Chanteuse
(all female 50-60's), Harp and Soul (acoustic trio) Northern
Lights (festival duo) and after relocating to Atlanta in 1998 is
a regular performer at several Borders Books/Music locations and at
Starbucks Coffee.
A prolific songwriter, she is currently at work on her CD entitled
"Luthier's Orphan" and resides in Brunswick, GA., with Chief
How, her cigar store Indian and two closets full of musical
instruments. Susan owns Eyeworthy Media, a web & graphic design
and photography firm.

TED HATFIELD
Harmony vocals, electric bass
Starting at age 5, Ted received piano instruction
from his mother Bella, a Julliard graduate; his father Edward was
conductor of the Light Opera Company in Schenectady, NY. At 10, he
studied trumpet under W. Bramwell Smith. Ted learned electric guitar
in 1963 but later switched to the electric bass, playing full time
in several DC-area club bands for eight years until moving his
family to Vermont in 1974, where he continued to play music at
church functions. Relocating to Atlanta in 1984, he played bass with
Sevenfold and other worship bands at the Atlanta Vineyard and
the Life Center churches.
Ted
currently plays bass for various bands in Northeast Atlanta
and is president of E.J. Hatfield Company, a broadband
telecommunications engineering firm. Bella’s
Steinway piano, now retired after more than 70 years of active
service, recently moved to its new home in Ted’s living room in
Lilburn, GA. |
