6 Colon Cleanse Myths Shattered
Some of these are positive while others make you want to run the other way.
However how authentic these claims are is yet to be determined. Unfortunately a lot of this information actually keeps people away from experiencing the benefits of colon cleansing.
Here's a list of stuff I put together about myths and my thoughts on them, enjoy!
Colon Cleanse Myth #1: Cleansing Can Cure Anything Instantly!
This couldn't be further from the truth. After all colon cleansing involves cleaning years of waste and toxin build up if you are expecting that to happen overnight or even in one session your are being unrealistic.
It takes a normal body at least a few rounds of colon cleansing to get rid of all the waste and toxins from the body.
Besides regular bowel cleaning sessions you will also have to follow a diet that is rich in fiber to help keep your colon clean every day.
Colon Cleanse Myth 2: It's Not Really Needed
This is one myth that is the most touted in modern day medical circles. Modern medical science believes that the colon can cleanse itself.
And it is partly true the colon can in fact cleanse itself when you give it the proper dietary items to do so. The human body was certainly not built to digest the vast amount of fats and sugar that we consume on a daily basis.
The colon needs a diet rich in fiber such as fresh fruits and vegetables to cleanse itself. Unfortunately, the single lettuce leaf inside a burger is not enough fiber for the colon to cleanse itself but the fats are enough to cause mucoid plaque.
Colon Cleanse Myth #3: The Body Absorbs Too Much Water During Hydrotherapy Which Causes An Imbalance In The Body And Flushes Out Vital Nutrients
It is true that the body does absorb some amount of water during a colonic or hydrotherapy. But it is certainly not enough to cause any such side effects.
The body does not absorb anymore than two glasses of water which will certainly not cause a major imbalance. Some nutrients may be flushed out but they are easily replenished with the use of fruits, vegetables and/or supplements.
Colon Cleanse Myth #4: The Cleansing Equipment Can Give You A Bacterial Infection
The equipment used at professional hydrotherapy clinics is always sterilized so there is minimal risk of infection.
And if you use a home enema to cleanse your colon it is important that you sterilize your equipment before using it.
Colon Cleanse Myth #5: It Can Cause Addiction And Hamper The Proper Functioning Of The Colon
This would be true if you were to use harsh chemical laxatives.
But since the products used in colon cleansing are all natural herbal products like Triphala, Psyllium husk or pure water in enemas/colon hydrotherapy the side-effects are almost non-existent.
Colon cleansing enthusiasts will tell you that the recommended procedure is to use colon cleansing powders at regular intervals (a few times a year).
Colon Cleanse Myth #6: It's Expensive
You don't always have to go to a hydrotherapy clinic to get your colon cleansed, there are many home remedies and powders which are equally effective yet convenient and can be done at a fraction of the cost.
