A Neolithic Landscape - The 1st Farmers
The Age of Intelligence
On today I have decided to present an article focused on the changing economy. Masses are angry because of the recent losses of Jobs not just in the US but all over the world. Unemployment is at 9.5% across the United States. What has this particular economic change signified? Well, I was just thinking about author Steven Covey in his books the 7th and 8th Habit There is a section that addresses several Era's. Prehistoric Man, who utilized sticks and stones. Next, the farming age or agricultural age, with the Farmer as the lead agent in the advancement of a major shift in how we lived and generated wealth. Next, the industrial age, yielding the Industry Man and finally the computer age, yielding the Intelligent Man. In each one of these instances there was a major shift in the way that people lived, and earned a living. How so? Well, the neolithic man used tools and crude objects to merely scratch the surface of life by using natural objects to hunt and survive against the elements and animals. In the Agricultural Age animals have been subdued and metals forged into tools to assist in digging deeper to plant and grow sustenance. Next, the Industrial man, more intelligent, enlightened, and actually constructing his future with his ideas and inventions, and a spirit of adventure. He has constructed towering smokestacks full of soot barreling into the atmosphere, generating products at a quadrupled pace out of factories has now challenged the old slower way of providing goods and services. Finally, the computer age, thinking has evolved to another level. The Age of Intelligence yielding the Intelligent man. Now the computer has been developed to make computations, analyze, and create. When technology is introduced there is an automatic shift that occurs within society. What did and do these changes signify? They signify evolution in the human race, the way we live and the way we conduct business. We now live in an age where technology is evolving at a lightning pace. What does that mean for people? It means that what worked yesterday has been replaced, updated, and upgraded. Skills for the 21st Century will require a massive overhaul through education if economic survival is expected. This means that your skills or degree may be useless, unless you learn to integrate it into the New Age or New Economy's Technology.
It's not a bad thing it is actually an opportunity. Look at some examples, analog TV versus digital. Everyone had to get use to the idea that an analog signal would no longer suffice for the trend setting technology of the digitized one. If you are paying attention the changes are occurring across every spectrum of business and life. Currently 50% of all households utilize cell phones, it meant something to the land line phone business, they either had to adapt by integrating the cell phone business, cable, and internet businesses or be left out of the loop. What about the television business? Cable and satellite television consumption has skyrocketed there are currently 113.3 million American households in the United States 64.7% of them are basic cable subscribers(absolutely astronomical dividends). A public school without computers would be considered substandard without them. The US Department of Labor Statistics reports that the best paying jobs or jobs that are actually increasing by Industry are:

Other medical areas that have always had a steady steam of vitality are the natural health care occupations. Naturalistic Medicine or Homeopathic Medicine. What do these trends indicate? Well, they indicate that our health has become a priority. The fitness industry has went from only servicing rich and professional athletes to anyone who desires a great body and better health. It has transitioned from servicing the wealthy with only a select few able to access state of the art gyms and machinery to an idustry targeting everyone for the new Fitness Super Centers. Inside is every type of machine to condition and tone the body for optimal performance for anyone who can afford the reasonable prices. Hence, the fitness instructor career. What's the point? Business is created out of a need and you have to have many skills in an advanced economy and the ability to adapt and fill that need. The world has transformed right in front of our eyes we have literally witnessed a shift or a change in Ages. A New Century has bought about new challenges and you have to know how to adapt to the flow of the trends current if you plan to survive the Age of Intelligence. Do you see the shifts occurring in your neighborhood, your town, your city and in the way we work and play. I admonish you to upgrade your skills and get back in the game of life and claim your piece of the Intelligent Age.
