Finding Your Prince Eric: The Way Of Body Language
Do you remember how in The Little Mermaid, Ursula was telling Ariel about how she can use her body language, instead of her voice, to win the heart of Prince Eric? Well, even though she is a sea witch, she was right! Body language is a key to attracting the man you want. Here, at Nouveau Dating, our goal is to provide you with some tools to put into your "Dating Toolbox." This box should have some interesting tools, and experiences in it already. But what does it have in terms of body language?
Being able to have effective body language will speak volumes to men. Do you know that 30 to 40% of our communications are done through our body language? I know right! That is a bit scary at times. But have no fear! I will give some steps to help you channel your inner Ariel. I have 5 steps, to be more precise, for you. Let's get started in an over view of what those steps, as outlined in my course Attracting The Man You Want.
First step is about how to focus on a man, and get him to approach you. While at any social function, the ideal thing to do is to position yourself in the best seat in the house. Every social venue has a different seat, so while milling around, find a spot where a larger group of males are congregating. Once that spot is found, sit there and start to hone in on your body language tool for your "Dating Toolbox." Some little pointers to get his attention: try to catch his eye; once you have, look away, and pretend to be embarrassed (childish, but effective); accidentally "bump" into him, and causally apologize for your "clumsiness"; lick your lower lip after taking a drink of your drink; have a good time—simple, but highly effective, since every man wants to meet an outgoing, fun woman. You can also quicken your pace while walking from one side of the venue to the other. It will make you look confident and important at the same time. Some women find it effective to show off a part of skin that is rarely seen; a shoulder or parts of your back. If you have an off-the-shoulder type shirt, wear it out and see what happens.
Now let's briefly talk about men and rejection. They fear rejection as much as we do, even not more. By using your body to project confidence, men won't be as intimidated to walk up to you. If you stand with your arms crossed in front of you or with your chin towards your chest, this promotes a negative vibe. Men won't be as responsive. If your head is held high, and face has a million watt smile across it, it sends a different signal.
The second step is how to close the physical distance between the two of you. Women generally tend to screen the following four observations while checking out men: Confidence as an Alpha Male; Health and Levels of Vitality; Masculinity; Social Skills. Those four areas of a man's life reveal a lot of us women. By maintaining good eye contact with that man from across the room, you will experience a great usage of your body language tool. Once he comes across the room to speak with you, he might use humor as an icebreaker, since men tend to use humor as their opening line. Also be observant on how he shakes your hand. If he rotates it, so his is over yours, then he is dominating. If he keeps them even, vertical, then he is more willing to look at relationships as an equal partnership. Eye contact during the handshake is important as well. If he looks into your eyes, he is a keeper. If his eyes darted around the room, tread lightly around this one.
Third step in my course is a discussion about how to see if you found a guy who might have the chance to spread the relationship wings with you. There are five specific questions for you to ask him: What short-term goals are you working on these days? What about the long-term goals? What are your views on relationships? What do you think about me? How do you feel about me? Those five questions should be asked after spending some time together; don't ask them on the first date. While spending time with him, watch for his body language. If his body is angled towards you, good sign. If he maintains his space, without inviting you into it, pay very close attention to his words. They might be clues into out he is feeling.
The fourth step in my course is about the emotional connection between the two of you. This is the touchy-feely stuff. The power of touch is a human brain's way of relating to other people. If the reaction from him is positive, then take the relationship to the next level. If his reaction is negative, reconsider your relationship. Men are wired to have a sexual subconscious response to touch, so even if your touch is innocent, be aware of this little tid-bit.
Step five is about passion; kissing, mainly. Kissing should be in your "Dating Toolbox," since it is a temptress all on its own. Granted, the first kiss might be awkward and confusing, it still has special place in our hearts. Men like kissing women, because their brains are wired to think of kissing as a platform for other, more physical stuff to happen. Sex is probably going to come into the relationship, at some point, so a man is in favor of kissing you. While kissing a man, remember that your body language is uber important. Bring your face closer to his; look deep into his eyes; moisten your lips; let your body and face relax, so you can really enjoy the art of kissing. We will briefly mention sex, here. Sex should be done when the two of you are ready. There is no "magic" number of dates that should be had before you start down this path. Sex isn't something you should regret with a man who you are into. Women tend to have difficulty separate sex and feeling from one another.
In conclusion, your body is the greatest asset you have. Now, you have to learn to harness it for good, not evil. Body language is a key element in attracting a man. Although Ursula was a sea witch, she did have a point about this one, though. Good luck, my Ariels'!
