Referring to this as an arranged attack on Christianity (as some people have) is an absolute overstatement. Do you really think Christ would be so angered with a simple parody? Having made this crucial point, let's now proceed to the actual content.

Raptor Jesus is a peculiar persona, bearing the head of a Raptor juxtaposed on artistic renderings of Jesus Christ. In other words, this can be referred to as a Meme, or a absurd prank that spreads like the flu. There's something about the Internet that just seems to encourage this kind of thing.

If you think there's a really advanced back story behind this, sorry to let you down. Long story short, Raptor Jesus was first seen at the Internet boards known as 4chan.
