Muhammad violated 100 established customs (1) Many gods

Muhammad violated some 100 established customs (1) many gods

Study of the pre-Islamic customs, issues, rules and laws is mandatory to acknowledge and appreciate the immense efforts done by the Prophet Muhammad who kept correcting anything wrong.

In this series, the Prophet Muhammad has disobeyed and violated some 100 established customs, issues, rules and laws that were wrong, false and flawed; as an alternative, he has corrected and replaced them with some 100 well-known customs, issues, rules and laws that are right and valid up to the moment.

The first issue, One God Vs Many gods

Arabs before Islam used to worship idols.

Those idols were representing their many gods.

They had an idol (god) for war, an idol (god) for mountain, an idol (god) for winds, an idol (god) for rain, an idol (god) for plants, an idol (god) for power, an idol (god) for travel etc.

They had some 300 different idols (gods).

This is the greatest established issue that the Prophet Muhammad has violated and disobeyed.

This issue is the essential base of the religion.

This issue regulates the relationship between the Creator and human beings.

This issue differentiates people into believers and unbelievers.

This issue leads to the obvious Enmity between the believers and unbelievers.

This issue leads to fighting between the believers and unbelievers.

The Prophet Muhammad was devoted to elucidate this fundamental issue.

He told the people that there are no many gods but only one GOD, Allah.

The Prophet Muhammad told the people that

  • If you realize this law, you will end up in the Eternal Paradise.
  • If you deny this law, you will end up in the Eternal Hell.

The pagan Arabs was astonished by this strange teaching; they said: "Truly this is a wonderful thing! This is a sorcerer telling lies! This is naught but an invention. And the pagan's leaders said to their followers: go and steadily adhere and remain constant to your (many) gods!

The Quran talks about this issue that has a basic impact on man's faith in Verses 38:4-7

=============

The Quran, Verses 38:4-7 (four different translations)

4)

QARIB: they marvel now that, from among themselves, a warner has come to them. The unbelievers say: 'this is a lying sorcerer.

SHAKIR: and they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say: this is an enchanter, a liar

PICKTHAL: and they marvel that a warner from among themselves hath come unto them, and the disbelievers say: this is a wizard, a charlatan.

YUSUFALI: so they wonder that a warner has come to them from among themselves! and the unbelievers say, "this is a sorcerer telling lies!

5)

QARIB: what, has he made the gods one god? This is indeed a wondrous thing. '

SHAKIR: what! Makes he the gods a single Allah? A strange thing is this, to be sure!

PICKTHAL: maketh he the gods one Allah? Lo! That is an astounding thing.

YUSUFALI: "has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!"

6)

QARIB: their assembly left (saying): 'go, and be patient to your gods, this is something to be desired.

SHAKIR: and the chief persons of them break forth, saying: go and steadily adhere to your gods; this is most surely a thing sought after

PICKTHAL: the chiefs among them go about, exhorting: go and be staunch to your gods! Lo! This is a thing designed.

YUSUFALI: and the leader among them go away (impatiently), (saying), "walk ye away, and remain constant to your gods! For this is truly a thing designed (against you)!

7)

QARIB: we never heard of this in the former religion. It is nothing but an invention.

SHAKIR: we never heard of this in the former faith; this is nothing but a forgery:

PICKTHAL: we have not heard of this in later religion. This is naught but an invention.

YUSUFALI: "we never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made-up tale!"
